Chamber Music Monterey Bay’s new concert season will open in October. We are excited to announce our first season partnership with a local artist. While Art and music appeal to different senses, they share connections, complement each other, and merge to create a meaningful, reflective, and emotional experiences.
CMMB selected Carmel artist Monica Johnson for our 2023-2024 season artist, and her original piece aptly titled “Between Worlds” as the stunning centerpiece of the Season. The abstract work uses acrylic, oil pastel, and collage on canvas. This work will be part of the 2023-2024 season, which begins on Oct. 14 with the award-winning Telegraph Quartet. “Between Worlds” will be offered for auction, to benefit Chamber Music Monterey Bay, and the winner will be announced at our final concert on April 27.
CMMB found Johnson’s contemporary style and immersive approach to painting particularly evocative. Born in Monterey, Johnson is deeply inspired by nature, witnessing the balance and harmony created through its various cycles and seasons.
Space is limited to 100 attendees.
